When you read this newsletter, Toronto will have a new mayor, Ontario a new government and in Ottawa there will be a new Prime Minister Elect. All have spoken of a willingness to co-operate in addressing the major concerns of Toronto.
Hopefully the transit system will receive an injection of capital to modernize and expand in order to meet the city's projected population growth. The anticipated federal funds towards alleviation of homelessness will be forthcoming.
Discussions concerning a new funding formula for financing the upgrading of Toronto's crumbling infrastructure and services are required. This should receive the highest priority. With this expected co-operation Toronto can look forward to a bright future.

The awards will be presented at our annual general meeting on November 19, 2003.
